On being mobbed

The account of an ongoing bid to harass a legal tenant out of her Seattle neighborhood

Coming soon: Is it safe to live in mobbing towns like Albany, California?

With hooligans looking to fatten their wallets by turning over properties to real estate speculators, neighbors who work for startups touting “investing” in “single-family rentals,” corrupt block coordinators who work with emergency services lending the hooligans a hand, and city government willing to look the other way while mobbing scum gas their neighbors, living in mobbing towns like Albany, California means risking your life to keep a roof over your head. (Not to mention the loss of faith that comes with the blithe return of the neighbor you tell about the in-home harassment: “I’d like to have another rental house.”)

This post will provide a short summary of mobbing tactics that came to the fore these last months and what mobbing victims like me are left to do when corruption and complacency are the norm in local government.
