On being mobbed

The account of an ongoing bid to harass a legal tenant out of her Seattle neighborhood

Need EV cybersecurity expertise to help document and discourage the abuse of charging and solar processes

Mobbing exploits wireless services including WiFi and charging processes. This is clear both in Albany, California and in Seattle, Washington. The impact of mobbing exploits that leverage wireless processes in Tesla and other EVs does not appear to be limited to inverters or DC power but may extend to the capabilities of onboard security cameras, dash-cams, and the EV charging process itself.

In either location, mobbing is enabled by proximity. Flanking the victim house from neighboring residential structures and, in particular, on the side of the victim house where the electric service and other utilities are installed, is crucial. This is my experience in both Seattle and in Albany, both of these locations where a volunteer “block coordinator” responsible for “disaster planning” (the erstwhile neighborhood watch) resides just across the way. In both locations, the focus of the mobbing is on utilities, including water and sewer.

California is a state that has prioritized the growth of solar technologies and the spread of EVs. Vehicle security experts have uncovered many vulnerabilities in EV chargers. Security experts have found no lack of vulnerabilities in “smart” meters. To assure the continued adoption of solar energy and EV charging, we must study and prevent the abuse of these technologies. There is no excuse for allowing real estate “investors” and hate groups to use these technologies to harm their neighbors and drive them from their homes.

I should not have had to live like this for so long. I would be happy to provide the opportunity for a knowledgeable security expert to come onsite, document the configuration of Tesla and other EVs along with the likely reach of onboard radio frequency, wireless and charging processes and any magnetic fields that are likely to be generated in relation to the ingress of my water and electric services. To make change, we must document the likely impact.

Send me a comment if you’re interested. If you’re an investigator with the State of California, all the better, and no need to write me or announce yourself. Much of the mobbing configuration exists in plain sight and some of it is documented in other writings on On being mobbed.
